University of Memphis - CAESER

Welcome to UofM's CAESER! We're a research center concentrating on water and GIS. Join the team as an educational volunteer!

About

We are seeking volunteers to help educate our community about water.  Volunteers would be trained to educate 4th graders who visit the Water on Wheels (WOW) mobile museum program as well as to possibly help educate a wider audience with our community events.  Training will be provided.

An important part of our work is related to the Memphis aquifer, the source of most tap water, thus drinking water, for Memphis and Shelby County.  One program we offer is the WOW mobile museum, which is all about the science of water, including the Memphis aquifer.  This WOW travels to schools and festivals throughout Memphis, Shelby County and surrounding counties to educate visitors about the source of their tap water and what they can do to conserve and protect it.

CAESER is an interdisciplinary research center at the University of Memphis housed under the Herff College of Engineering.  Our acronym stands for the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research (CAESER).
